L.I.V.E. Life Inspired Views for Everyday

Flip Your Switch

Kris Meyer

Many years ago, I went with a group of friends to Minneapolis to attend the live radio production of Prairie Home Companion,  by the storyteller, Garrison Keillor. I sat next to a young man with a red t-shirt that said, "Kenosha Storytellers," or something like that. We struck up a conversation and I told him I always wanted to be a storyteller. He said, "Just go find a group and tell a story." Something happened inside me when he said that and I went home, asked the local library if I could come and tell a story to the children's story hour. A few weeks later I found a book describing how to become a storyteller, and the rest is history, my life was changed forever.

One sentence from a stranger caused a lifelong change. Hmmm...just how does that happen? Did it ever happen to you?

Thanks for listening.
