L.I.V.E. Life Inspired Views for Everyday

Neighbors

Kris Meyer

Remember when Dorothy was clicking her ruby slippers together and softly repeating, "There's no place like home. There's no place like home...?" And then, remember when she woke up in Kansas and was so relieved and excited to see her Uncle Henry and Auntie Em, the farm hands, and the circus man she'd met? They were people close to her, in the environment she called "home." They belonged in her story and she belonged in their story. That is what home does. It develops the setting for stories of lives, friendships, crises, celebrations. They are "lived stories." And they are important because we belong in the story and to everyone a part of our story. A neighborhood is composed of those stories.

Hmmm...who are the stories in your neighborhood? Do you know them?

Thanks for listening.
